Bill Lee retired eight straight batters in relief of Sonny Siebert to make it easy for the Red Sox to defeat the Angels, 8-4. Carlton Fisk hit a homer in the sixth inning to give the Red Sox a 5-4 lead. After Lee took over for Siebert in the seventh, the Red Sox scored three runs in their half to clinch the victory.
