Roberto Clemente hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to put the Pirates ahead and then drove in another run with a single in the ninth to clinch a 7-5 victory over the Dodgers. In a baseball rarity, Manny Mota and Willie Davis both hit inside-the-park homers for the Dodgers.

Mota smashed a drive down the left field line in the third inning and streaked around the bases when Rennie Stennett slipped and fell trying to cut off the ball. Davis hit a liner that caromed away from Clemente in the right field corner in the fifth. The Dodgers also had a homer into the right field stands by Bill Buckner in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
