A wild throw on an attempted double play allowed Mickey Rivers to score from second base in the 11th inning to bring the Angels a 3-2 victory over the Indians. Rivers was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on an infield out.

After an intentional pass to Bob Oliver, Ken McMullen grounded to Frank Duffy, who tossed to Jack Brohamer, forcing Oliver. However, when Brohamer threw wildly to first base, Rivers came across the plate with the winning run. [The Sporting News]
