The Yankees combined the slugging of Bobby Murcer and Horace Clarke, the pitching of Fritz Peterson and five double plays to post an 8-1 victory over the White Sox. Murcer smashed a three-run homer off former Yankee Stan Bahnsen in the third inning and Clarke hit a similar blow off reliever Steve Kealey in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
