. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Leading off in the 11th inning, Joe Rudi homered on the first pitch thrown to him by Chuck Seelbach to give the Athletics a 3-2 victory over the Tigers. The A's also had a round-tripper by George Hendrick in the third, but the Tigers took the lead with circuit clouts by Norm Cash and Al Kaline before the A's tied the score with an unearned run in the eighth on a walk to Angel Mangual, error by Cash and single by Bert Campaneris.
