. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Hot-hitting Bernie Allen and Bobby Murcer batted the Yankees to a 4-1 victory over the Indians behind the six-hit pitching of Fritz Peterson. Allen, batting at a .400 clip in his last 13 games, homered with a man on base in the third inning. Murcer, hitting .417 for the month of June, drove in a run with a triple in the fifth and scored himself on a single by Roy White. [The Sporting News]
