Tommy John and Pete Mikkelsen combined to pitch the Dodgers to a 5-0 victory over the Braves. Mikkelsen relieved after Mike Lum and Marty Perez singled off John with none out in the eighth inning and put down the Braves' threat.

Bill Russell drove in two of the Dodgers' runs with a sacrifice fly and single. Chris Cannizzarro plated a pair with a single and Manny Mota accounted for the other run with a homer. [The Sporting News]
