Terry Crowley scored one run and drove in another to help the Orioles defeat the Tigers, 2-1, for Jim Palmer's eighth straight victory and 10th of the season. Gates Brown homered for the Tigers' run in the first inning.

Don Buford singled in the Orioles' half, moved up on a sacrifice and scored on a single by Crowley. In the sixth, Crowley doubled and scored the deciding run when Brooks Robinson followed with a single. [The Sporting News]
