After being held hitless for the first five innings, the Indians jumped on Ray Culp for six runs on three walks, two doubles and one single to defeat the Red Sox, 7-3. Ray Lamb walked to lead off and, with one out, Jack Brohamer doubled.

Vince Colbert, running for Lamb, was out at the plate on a grounder by Alex Johnson, but Graig Nettles doubled to drive in two runs. After passes to Tommy McCraw and Ray Fosse, Ron Lolich knocked in two runs with a single and Frank Duffy followed with a single to drive in two more tallies. [The Sporting News]
