Johnny Briggs tied the score with a three-run homer in the sixth inning and then drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the eighth to lead the Brewers to a 6-4 victory over the Orioles. The Brewers fell behind, 4-1, in the fifth when the Orioles scored three times, including a theft of home by Mark Belanger in a double steal with Merv Rettenmund.

Briggs' homer in the sixth came after Joe Lahoud singled and George Scott was safe on an error. In the eighth, Scott doubled and crossed the plate on a single by Briggs, who also came around to count an insurance run on a single by Dave May and sacrifice fly by Ellie Rodriguez. [The Sporting News]
