Dal Maxvill was named the N. L.'s Player of the Week after capping his batting spree by driving in four runs with a double and single to enable the Cardinals to defeat the Phillies, 7-3. Maxvill batted in one run with a bases-loaded single in the second inning and then came up again with three men aboard in the third and cleared the sacks with a double.
