Two players who did not start the game for the Brewers came through with flying colors to beat the Angels, 6-5. Jim Colborn relieved after the Angels took a 5-4 lead against Skip Lockwood and pitched scoreless ball for the last 6 1/3 innings. Johnny Briggs, who was inserted into the lineup in the fourth, hit a homer in the fifth to tie the score and then homered again in the seventh to provide the winning run. [The Sporting News]
