The Tigers scored four runs in the last two innings, with Tony Taylor supplying a triple and single, to defeat the White Sox, 6-4. The White Sox bunched four singles for two runs in the fourth, but the Tigers pulled even with homers by Ike Brown in the fifth and Al Kaline in the sixth.

Paul Jata walked in the eighth and scored on a triple by Taylor, who also crossed the plate on a single by Aurelio Rodriguez. Taylor and Kaline each batted in a run in the ninth to provide the winning margin. [The Sporting News]
