Three unearned runs and another that scored on a wild pitch enabled the Mets to beat the Dodgers, 4-1. An error led to the Mets' initial run in the third inning.

With the score tied, 1-1, John Milner singled in the seventh and took third on a single by Ed Kranepool. Ted Martinez then squared around to attempt a squeeze bunt, but Pete Mikkelsen delivered a wild pitch, allowing Milner to score.
