Successful in his fourth try, Wilbur Wood posted his 13th victory of the season when the White Sox defeated the Indians, 5-4. Tony Muser, who entered the game after Dick Allen hurt his foot in the fifth inning, singled in the ninth, took second on a sacrifice by Rick Reichardt and scored the winning run on a single by Carlos May.
