Johnny Bench batted in three runs with two homers to lead the Reds to a 6-3 victory over the Pirates. Tony Perez hit for the circuit to account for the Reds' first run in the second inning.

Bench homered after Joe Morgan was safe on an error in the fourth. Bobby Tolan drove in two runs with a single in the seventh and Bench added the Reds' final marker with a homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
