. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Sal Bando belted two homers, the first of his career in Yankee Stadium, and drove in four runs to pace the Athletics to a 6-2 victory. Bando started with a solo swat in the fourth inning and then homered again after a double by Joe Rudi and pass to Reggie Jackson in the ninth. Jackson also homered for the A's, while Bobby Murcer accounted for the Yankees' runs with a circuit clout in the fourth inning. [The Sporting News]
