. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Splitting two tight games, the Angels won the opener of a doubleheader, 1-0, and the Brewers took the nightcap, 2-1. In the first game, Dave May held the Brewers to two singles, both by Tommie Reynolds, and beat Jim Colborn, who allowed three hits, when the Angels scored in the third inning on a pass to Ken Berry, single by Leo Cardenas and sacrifice fly by Vada Pinson.

The Angels picked up their run in the second game on singles by Sandy Alomar and Berry around a sacrifice in the fifth inning. The Brewers came back with their winning pair in the eighth on a bases-loaded single by George Scott. Bill Parsons, as the beneficiary of Scott's hit, broke his personal five-game losing streak.
