Throwing errors by Jerry Koosman and Danny Frisella helped the Padres score four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Mets, 7-3. Dave Roberts walked to open the stanza and scored to break a tie when Koosman threw wildly on a bunt by Jerry Morales. Taking third on the error, Morales crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Nate Colbert.

When Cito Gaston and Johhny Jeter followed with singles, Frisella replaced Koosman. Bill Greif bunted to Frisella, who threw wildly to third trying for a forceout, and both Gaston and Jeter scored. [The Sporting News]
