Ending their four-game losing streak, the Yankees smashed three homers and beat the Twins, 6-0, behind the pitching of Steve Kline, who yielded only six singles. Ray Corbin's wildness and gopher pitches enabled the Yankees to score five runs in the third inning.

Thurman Munson hit his homer after a pass to Kline and Ron Blomberg belted his blow after walks to Bobby Murcer and Roy White. Murcer accounted for the last tally with a round-tripper in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
