Ron Bryant allowed only four hits and pitched the Giants to a 3-0 victory over the Expos. Bobby Bonds singled and Garry Maddox homered in the first inning to give Bryant enough runs to win. The Giants added their other tally in the fourth on two singles, a wild pitch and balk by Balor Moore.

Bryant hit Ron Hunt with a pitch in the sixth inning. That was the 192nd time Hunt had been hit in his career, tying the major league record held by Minnie Minoso. [The Sporting News]
