Sparked by Steve Braun, who had four hits and drove in three runs, the Twins defeated the Brewers, 9-5, to end their six-game losing streak. After Braun's RBIs produced a 3-1 lead, the Twins scored three more runs in the eighth, two crossing the plate on a pinch-single by Chuck Manuel, who batted for Ray Corbin after the starting pitcher had hurt his hand while at bat.

The Brewers came back with four unearned runs in their half, but Braun doubled for his fourth hit in the ninth to touch off a three-run outburst that clinched the victory for the Twins. [The Sporting News]
