Starting with a three-run homer by Ken McMullen in the first inning, the Angels defeated the Yankees, 6-3. Sandy Alomar and Andy Kosco singled ahead of McMullen's drive.

The Angels scored on a wild pitch by Mike Kekich in the second and added a run on a single by Alomar in the fourth before Kosco homered to complete their scoring in the fifth. Horace Clarke had four hits for the Yankees and drove in two of their runs. [The Sporting News]
