Alex Johnson homered off Wilbur Wood for the Indians' run in the fifth inning of the lidlifter. Dick Allen homered to tie the score in the seventh and singled with one out in the ninth. Following a sacrifice by Ed Spiezio, Gaylord Perry walked Pat Kelly intentionally and also passed Ed Herrmann to load the bases.
