Backed by a pair of two-run homers, Mickey Lolich gained his 18th victory for the Tigers by defeating the Red Sox, 5-2. Aurelio Rodriguez homered after a single by Dick McAuliffe in the first inning and Bill Freehan broke a 2-2 tie with a circuit clout following a single by Gates Brown in the fifth.
