Racing home from third base on a sacrifice fly to shallow right field, Tito Fuentes scored the run that enabled the Giants to defeat the Dodgers, 4-3. After Bernie Williams hit a two-run homer for the Giants in the sixth to tie the score at 3-3, Fuentes opened the eighth with a double.

Al Gallagher bunted and was safe when Lee Lacy, covering first base, dropped the throw from Jim Brewer. Then, with one out, Ken Henderson lifted a fly that Lacy caught with his back to the plate and Fuentes, after tagging up, beat the second baseman's throw home. [The Sporting News]
