Carlton Fisk tied the Red Sox record for homers by a catcher, hitting his 17th of the season, to mark a 7-2 victory over the Yankees. Bob Tillman set the record with the Hub club in 1964. Fisk hit his homer with Rico Petrocelli on base in the second inning and the Red Sox stayed in front the rest of the way. [The Sporting News]
