Balor Moore, the Expos' rookie lefthander, struck out Willie Stargell with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to complete a 2-1 victory over the Pirates. The Expos started the scoring with a run in the fourth on a walk to Ron Fairly, wild pitch by Bruce Kison and single by Clyde Mashore. Gene Clines tripled and Dave Cash hit a sacrifice fly for the Pirates' tying run in the sixth, but Tim McCarver provided the winning run with a homer in the Expos' half. [The Sporting News]
