Hank Aaron set a new record for most homers by a player with one club, hitting the 660th and 661st of his career with the Braves, his second circuit clout coming in the 10th inning to beat the Reds, 4-3. The former homer mark for one club was 659 by Babe Ruth with the Yankees.

Ralph Garr accounted for the Braves' first two runs with a round-tripper in the opening frame before Aaron swung into action with a homer in the fourth. The Reds tied the score in the sixth when Joe Morgan, Bobby Tolan and Johnny Bench singled and Tony Perez doubled. [The Sporting News]
