. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Wilbur Wood gained his 18th victory and Tom Bradley posted his 12th with route-going performances as the White Sox romped over the Rangers in a doubleheader, 10-1 and 7-1. Wood enjoyed a breeze in the opener after the White Sox sent 11 men to bat against Pete Broberg in the second inning and scored six runs, two counting on a single by Dick Allen. Wood had a run-scoring single during that stanza and added his second RBI with another single in the seventh.

The White Sox decided the nightcap in Bradley's favor when Allen homered in the sixth inning and, after Ed Spiezio was safe on an error, Ed Herrmann also hit for the circuit. [The Sporting News]
