The Giants, who piled up their highest hit and run totals of the season in winning the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, 15-4, completed the sweep by also beating the Padres in the second game, 7-3. The Giants collected 16 safeties in the opener, with every starting player having at least one hit and one RBI. However, the only homers of the game were whacked by Derrel Thomas and Fred Kendall of the Padres.
