. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rick Reuschel, who emerged from his only jam by inducing Boots Day to bounce into a double play with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, pitched the Cubs to an 8-0 victory over the Expos. The Cubs settled the issue in the first inning with three runs on a double by Don Kessinger, intentional pass to Billy Williams, single by Ron Santo and double by Rick Monday. In the fifth, when the Cubs added their other runs, Reuschel batted in one and Williams plated a pair, each with a bases-loaded single. [The Sporting News]
