Rick Reuschel, who emerged from his only jam by inducing Boots Day to bounce into a double play with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, pitched the Cubs to an 8-0 victory over the Expos. The Cubs settled the issue in the first inning with three runs on a double by Don Kessinger, intentional pass to Billy Williams, single by Ron Santo and double by Rick Monday.
