In addition to pitching a three-hitter, Mike Torrez broke a tie with a single in the eighth inning to lead the Expos to a 4-1 victory over the Phillies. Ken Singleton walked and Ron Fairly doubled for the Expos' initial run in the first. Don Money homered to tie the score in the second.

With two out in the eighth, Bob Bailey, Tim Foli and Torrez singled to produce the Expos' go-ahead run. When Deron Johnson, as the cutoff man, threw wildly to third, Foli also scored. Ron Hunt followed with a single to drive in Torrez with the final run. [The Sporting News]
