Mickey Lolich failed for the third time in a bid for his 19th victory and drew his ninth defeat instead when the Indians beat the Tigers, 6-1, behind the pitching of Dick Tidrow. Buddy Bell had his second straight four-hit game for the Indians before flying out on his final trip to the plate. Lolich gave up all of the Indians' runs on 11 hits in 6 1/3 innings, including an inside-the-park homer by Tommy McCraw. [The Sporting News]
