. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A streak of wildness by Nolan Ryan, who walked three straight batters in the sixth inning, enabled the Twins to defeat the Angels, 4-3. The Twins scored a run in the first inning on a pass to Rod Carew, his theft of second and a single by Steve Braun.

After loading the bases on walks in the sixth, Ryan gave up a run-scoring single by Danny Thompson before departing. Rickey Clark relieved and struck out Bobby Darwin, but Glenn Borgmann doubled to drive in two runs. The Angels rallied in their half of the sixth but fell short with only three runs on a single by Sandy Alomar, double by Leo Cardenas, infield out by Vada Pinson and homer by Ken McMullen.
