The Astros, who were trailing 5-0 after three innings, rallied to defeat the Giants, 7-5. The Giants' scoring included a homer by Bobby Bonds. The Astros began their comeback with three runs in the fourth on singles by Bob Watson, Tommy Helms and Norm Miller and a double by Roger Metzger.

Then, in the sixth, after the Astros loaded the bases on two walks around a single by Helms, Cesar Cedeno drove in two runs with a single to tie the score. Jim Wynn followed with a single for another run to send the Astros ahead and the final marker followed when Cedeno scored on a wild pitch. [The Sporting News]
