. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Hot-hitting Willie Davis smashed a two-run homer in the sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie and supply the Dodgers' winning margin in an 8-6 victory over the Pirates. A double by Bruce Kison and single by Rennie Stennett each drove in two runs to give the Pirates a 4-2 lead in the second and Richie Hebner homered in fourth, but the Dodgers came back with a four-run outburst in their half of the fourth, including a sacrifice fly by Davis. After the Pirates pulled even with a run in the fifth, Bill Buckner singled for the Dodgers in the sixth and Davis hit his deciding homer. [The Sporting News]
