A homer by Tom Grieve with two out in the 10th inning carried the Rangers to a 9-8 victory over the Red Sox, who wasted a grand slam by Reggie Smith. The Red Sox loaded the bases in the fifth on a single by Danny Cater, double by John Kennedy and pass to Luis Aparicio.
