. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Two Dodger rookies, Steve Yeager and Lee Lacy, provided support for Tommy John, who pitched a four-hitter and defeated the Cubs, 4-2. Yeager drove in a run with a single in the second inning. A triple by Lacy, single by Manny Mota, pass to Willie Davis and single by Wes Parker added a pair in the third.

Yeager walked in the seventh and came around to score on a sacrifice by John, single by Lacy and forceout by Mota. Joe Pepitone homered for the Cubs. [The Sporting News]
