Syd O'Brien and Johnny Briggs rapped run-scoring singles to enable the Brewers to defeat the Royals, 2-1. In the third inning, Ellie Rodriguez singled and was forced by Bob Heise. Rick Auerbach singled Heise to third and O'Brien sent him home with his hit.
