. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Indians scored three runs in the first two innings and that was enough for Dick Tidrow, who posted a 3-1 victory to drop the Athletics into a first-place tie with the White Sox in the West division race. A walk to Eddie Leon and double by Alex Johnson accounted for the Indians' initial tally in the first. The two other runs in the second resulted from a walk to Ray Fosse, single by Roy Foster, double by Graig Nettles and sacrifice fly by Frank Duffy. [The Sporting News]
