Jim Beauchamp celebrated his 33rd birthday with his first two homers of the season, including a smash with a man on base and two out in the ninth inning to carry the Mets to a 4-2 victory over the Astros. Cesar Cedeno batted in both Astro runs with a homer and double. Beauchamp, who first hit for the circuit in the seventh inning, delivered his winning blow in the ninth after a pass to John Milner.
