Down by four runs after two innings, the White Sox came back to defeat the Yankees, 5-4. The White Sox trimmed their deficit to one run by scoring three times in the third on singles by Chuck Brinkman and Walt Williams, a double by Buddy Bradford and single by Mike Andrews. Then, in the fifth, after Bradford singled, Dick Allen provided the winning blow with a homer. [The Sporting News]
