Tom Seaver hit one of the Mets' four homers and beat the Braves, 13-6, for his 16th victory. John Milner started the Mets' slugging with a circuit clout in the first inning. Seaver homered with a man on base to produce two of the Mets' four runs in the second. A round-tripper by Tommie Agee helped the Mets add four more runs in the third. Ken Boswell rapped the Mets' other homer in the eighth.

Seaver, after holding the Braves scoreless for six innings, wilted in the 91-degree heat and gave up four runs, three of them scoring on a homer by Darrell Evans. Danny Frisella pitched the last two innings. [The Sporting News]
