. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The rain that cooled off Pat Dobson served to steam up the Twins, who erupted for seven runs in the seventh inning to beat the Orioles, 7-1, and end their eight-game losing streak. Before the 34-minute delay because of rain, the Twins managed only four hits off Dobson, but when play resumed, they ripped into the Orioles' starter for two runs on singles by Harmon Killebrew, Bobby Darwin, Danny Thompson and Glenn Borgmann.

Roric Harrison, relieving with two out, walked Bert Blyleven and gave up a two-run double by Cesar Tovar. Mickey Scott yielded a double by Rod Carew, adding two runs, and a single by Steve Braun for another tally before bringing the inning to a close. Don Buford saved the Orioles from being shutout with a homer in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
