Three unearned runs on errors by Don Kessinger and Ron Santo enabled the Dodgers to defeat the Cubs, 5-3. Two of the Dodgers' three runs in the first inning were tainted on a wild throw by Kessinger. Two walks and a single by Claude Osteen added a run in the sixth before Santo homered with two men on base for the Cubs in the seventh. However, an error by Santo in the eighth gave the Dodgers another unearned run. [The Sporting News]
