Bud Harrelson, whose wild throw allowed the Astros to score a run in the first inning, made up for his error with a two-out single in the ninth to give the Mets a 2-1 victory. Cleon Jones homered for the Mets in the sixth to tie the score. Jim Beauchamp singled in the ninth and was forced by Ted Martinez.
