. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Homers helped carry the Indians to a 4-3 victory in the first game of a twi-night doubleheader and set an example for the Brewers, who used round-trippers in return while winning the second game, 5-2. Steve Dunning, the Indians' starting pitcher in the opener, doubled and scored in the third inning and hit a homer in the fifth. The Brewers, who had a circuit clout by Dave May, chased Dunning and went ahead in the seventh, 3-2. However, in the eighth, Chris Chambliss singled with two out and Buddy Bell belted a homer to give the Indians their victory.

The Brewers settled the issue in the second game with a homer by Johnny Briggs in the fourth inning and another by George Scott in the eighth. Graig Nettles hit one for the Indians. [The Sporting News]
