Woodie Fryman, a Tigers' pick-up from the National League, pitched a two-hitter and beat the Orioles, 2-1, for the veteran lefthander's fifth victory against two losses since being obtained from the Phillies. Gates Brown homered for the Tigers in the first inning and their deciding run followed in the seventh when Jim Northrup walked, Aurelio Rodriguez singled and Ed Brinkman doubled. Fryman gave up a double to Brooks Robinson in the sixth and a pinch-homer by Don Buford in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
