Dick Drago, who made his first appearance since being struck on the jaw by a line drive September 1, allowed only four hits and pitched the Royals to a 3-1 victory over the Twins. The Royals decided the game with two out in the first inning when Richie Scheinblum walked and John Mayberry homered. Harmon Killebrew clouted a round-tripper for the Twins in the sixth, but the Royals offset it with a run in the eighth on a walk to Mayberry, a sacrifice and a single by Paul Schaal.
